We are a Family Business
Madison Boats is a community of lake lovers at three amazing locations.
Wingra Boats has been helping people enjoy the spring fed, natural Lake Wingra. Britthingham Boats was the jewel of the Parks in the 1900’s. After a period of decline, new life was breathed into the old beach house when Brittingham Boats opened in 2013. Brittingham has come alive as the downtown destination for all summer fun. Marshall Boats opened in 2017, and has brought new opportunities to explore Lake Mendota with easy paddles to Phesant Branch and Spring Harbor Beach, and opportunities to bring the whole family out on a pontoon boat.
Owner, Tyler Leeper, started working at Wingra Boats at the age of 14 and strives to share his love for our Lakes through boat rentals, services and events. Madison Boats is a family affair with his sister, Summer Jarosky, managing Wingra Boats; his mother, Debi Leeper, the director of Camp Wingra, and his father, Dave Leeper, the boat house handy man and attorney. His dear friend Stephan Reinke joined the team in 2012 and was the driving energy behind Brittingham Boats. Stephan’s sister works at Brittingham and you can find his son, Toby helping most weekends.
"We feel so lucky to have the job of helping people get out on the lakes and spend quality time with each other. To be able to do this surrounded by family is true joy!" - Tyler Leeper
Madison Boats has grown over the years, adding locations, services, programs and equipment, with the help of people like you. Lake lovers who want to share their time and expertise leading birding excursions or SUP Club for kids, jumping in the water to help with piers or simple sharing feedback on what they like or don’t.
We hope that you will join this incredible community, and spend some (or lots) of time with us this summer. We hope that you will share stories, ideas, and your passion as we look to give people the opportunity to escape and reconnect.
Thank you for caring and we hope to see you on the Lake!
